I was born in Plymouth and spent much of my youth on the water either canoeing or sailing with the Scouts. On leaving school I trained as an engineer, before starting a career in optics where I worked for 20 years.
After becoming a Lay Reader, I then trained for Ordination at St. Johns College Nottingham and completed my 4-year curacy in Exeter. I was in my previous position, just across the river, for almost 10 years; as well as being the Rural Dean for Tavistock Deanery.
I met my wife Sarah, in 2001 and have two children. It is exciting to think of the journey that God will take us all on over the next few years.
